Edith Tanner
Painting is what I love to do, and I enjoy sharing it with others. 
I first started painting 15 years ago. I paint to capture the mood and color of the changing light in the tradition of the American Luminists. My landscapes reflect the continually changing ways that earth and sky meet and their focus on light and atmosphere. I work exclusively in oils. The fluidity of the paint allows me to achieve the soft effects I want, and the richness of oil enhances the vibrancy of the color. I usually start out visualizing an image and then work from there to achieve it. The simplicity of the image gives an abstract quality to the paintings.
